REPORT FOR PROJECT GREEN Project Green is an initiative of AIESEC Port Harcourt, an environment based project that is aimed at creating awareness about maintaining a clean and sustainable environment for mankind. The target audience was grass root level communities around Rivers State, with the focus area being Ogbogoro community, choba Rivers state. The project was launched in the month of December 2012 in University of Port Harcourt to create awareness about the project. The project was billed to run from 5th April 2013 through to 4th May 2013,and it kicked off on the 5th April 2013.Two days of the week was set aside to carry out the project and these days were, Fridays for training sessions on how to maintain a clean environment and then Saturdays for environmental sanitation awareness campaign. The training sessions were executed by the Project Green team. The environmental sanitation awareness campaigns was carried out by the Project Green team and some members of Ogbogoro community. At the end of the project, materials such as rakes, disposable waste bags, waste bins which was provided for by one of our partners SOFER INITIATIVES, were placed in strategic locations of the community and also distributed to members of the community encourage and ensure their continuance in keeping and maintaining a clean and sustainable environment in Ogbogoro community.
